Join me in supporting brothers and sisters on the other side of the world who are hard-hit by the economic impact of the pandemic. We can make a difference for our students, keeping them fed and ready to restart their education in 2021.
Because of Covid-19, the need for food security has dramatically increased in our project area - the Chulaimbo region of western Kenya, near Lake Victoria.
- The economy has been devastatingly impacted by the virus - many income opportunities are gone for our children's guardians.
- The Kenyan government cancelled school for the 2020 academic year; we are distributing extra food to our students and their families now in lieu of school lunches - resulting in a stretched budget this year.
- Our staff is meeting additional needs as much as possible for our families with extra aid as other challenges such as housing, are elevated to us.
As our students persevere through challenges, we can help the Umoja Partnership reduce hunger
