We have 5,444 orphaned and vulnerable children depending on Umoja every day! Join us in transforming impoverished communities - one child at a time!

It costs just $50 to ensure a child in need receives school lunch for a year.

With the cost of food continuing to remain high, challenging weather climates, poor harvests, and rising taxes, it's a chaotic and uncertain time in Kenya. Our families are struggling more than they have in some time. In 2025, we are serving 5,444 orphaned and vulnerable children. We also provide additional weekend and holiday meals for 131 child-headed households.

Our School Lunch Program is the beginning of a path towards self-reliance keeping orphaned and vulnerable children in primary and junior high school, allowing them to move on to secondary school. Umoja then supports their tuition fees in secondary school (high school). If academic performance is there, the hope is that we can continue to support the youth through their post-secondary education dreams. In a society where no one expects a vulnerable child to go far, we give over 5,000 students a chance at self-reliance.

Any amount raised toward our goal will fulfill our purpose of keeping kids in school and offering them a pathway out of poverty through education.
