Help to ensure that 5,444 eat at least one meal every day!
Please consider helping Jeff and me make a difference in the lives of Kenyan orphan children in the Chilumbo region where AIDS has especially devatated young families.
Jeff and I traveled to the schools supported by Umoja in 2020 prior to the Pandemic. We were able to see first hand the children and families assisted through Umoja funds. Children were able to attend school because Umoja paid their tuition and book fees, uniform charge, gave solar lamps for studying at homes without electricity, provided blankets for sleeping and provided a nourishing meal during the school day.
We are asking you to rally friends, family, and networks to support our efforts. By donating to Umoja Partnership, you will help more than 5,444 students in primary and junior high school living incredibly difficult lives, and you'll help your friends feel good about doing good.
With your help, we can nourish the bodies of vulnerable children and ensure they are prepared to learn. Education is a pathway out of poverty for them, and our school lunch program is the first step toward helping Kenyan school children.
Weather conditions, the pandemic, of 2020-22 and inflation have permanently doubled the cost of school lunches. It used to cost $25 to feed a child school lunch for a year, and now it costs $50! To reach all the students in need, we will need to raise $50 per child to cover the costs for the year.
The cost for grains alone for each of our 21 partner schools is $4,225.
Any amount raised toward our goal will fulfill our purpose of keeping kids in school and offering them a pathway out of poverty through education.
Thank you for donating your time, energy, and efforts to help us reach our goal. We appreciate you!
