Dear Friends and Family,
I am dedicated to serving others, whether as a Deacon or usher at church or as a Board member for the Umoja Partnership.
The Umoja Partnership is an Indianapolis based nonprofit that supports orphaned and vulnerable children across 21 schools in Chulaimbo, Kenya. Not only does the Umoja Partnership raise money for the school fees for students but we are currently running a campaign to fund our Food for Thought daily feeding program, which serves 5, 453 children. It also provides weekend and evening food support to 130 child headed households (where children live alone without an adult present). For most of these children, the school lunch is their only meal of the day and a vital first step toward succeeding in education--because we know a hungry child simply cannot learn, grow or thrive.
The Umoja Partnership covers 80% of the cost of maize and beans and the local Kenya community cover the rest. As a board member, I can assure you that 100% of your donation goes directly toward purchasing maize and beans for the school year. I am reaching out because I am personally fundraising for a cause that means a great deal to me — and I'd love for you to be a part of it also. Help celebrate my passion for serving others and following our good Shepard.
